Elementary Art Night 2023

Learning to create and appreciate art is an important part of education, especially when the focus of everything we do at Rocky Mount Prep (RMP) takes a whole-child approach! Teachers and parents alike embraced art education through RMP’s elementary art night on Monday, April 3.

This is RMP’s third year having elementary art night. Various types of art work created by scholars in kindergarten through fifth grade were displayed and select art works were available for purchase.

This year, several outside art organizations attended to provide art activities. Our guests included: A. Lombardi from the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh, Renee M. with Wilson Arts, Noel B. with the Rocky Mount Imperial Centre, and Dr. Robbie Q. from East Carolina University's Art Education program. The activities were a blast for our scholars, families, and teachers!

Elementary art night is organized every year by our elementary art teacher, Ms. Jolyn Bass.

“I love organizing this art-filled evening for our scholars and families to enjoy each school year,” Ms. Bass said. “I want to thank all of the staff, scholars, families, and my own family/friends for all of their help with another successful art night! Thank you especially to the families who attended and made monetary donations towards the art class budget! We love getting new supplies! I am looking forward to hopefully taking some art-related field trips sometime soon!”

Thank you to everyone who came out to support our school and our scholars! We can’t wait to see you at elementary art night next school year!
